One Drive Trouble shooting

Always check that the One-Drive symbol is showing in your toolbar. It will appear as a Cloud symbol.

Overtime you may find the symbol changes, below are what you can expect to see, scroll down until you see the appropriate symbol for your given situation:

-’SYNC error’ –

This will require a restart of the OneDrive Application

To restart OneDrive on Windows 10, use these steps:

Click the OneDrive button in the bottom-right corner.

Click the More option.

Click the Close OneDrive button.

Open Start.

Search for OneDrive and click the top result to start.

Once you complete the steps, OneDrive should start syncing your content again.

 - OneDrive is stuck on “Processing changes –

If OneDrive shows “Processing changes" for a long time, it could be because you have an online file open, lots of files stuck in a queue, or a very large file syncing.

Select the Blue OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar/menu bar to show the list of all files being synced or have recently synced.

If you are syncing a large number of files or perhaps one file is much larger in size then others it can take some time, there are a number of factors that impact this such as File Size, Internet speed and number of files.

 - OneDrive Paused –

OneDrive will automatically pause when a Windows Laptop enters battery saver mode. If you see this symbol but wish for OneDrive to continue Syncing then either plug a charge into the Laptop or alternatively you can tap the Battery saver icon to stop ‘Battery Saver Mode’

 - OneDrive account nearly full -

If you see this Symbol, your ‘OneDrive’ account is nearly full and you will be required to delete or move files. The Trust allocates 10GB of space per person, Files such as Videos should always be saved in SharePoint and not in your ‘OneDrive’.

 - OneDrive account full -

If your OneDrive is full you have used up all allocated space available. You will need to delete files or move them elsewhere. The I.T support team will not allow additional storage space under any circumstance.

- OneDrive not signed in –

OneDrive has not been signed in. To sign in click on the Start button, search for “OneDrive”, and open it.

When OneDrive starts, enter your work or school account, and then select Sign in.
